Combatant

The Last Neutral

Combatant is the embodiment of precision without peace—a soldier who mistakes endurance for meaning. Once the Augmentum’s model operative, he has become something darker: a weapon who understands exactly what he’s destroying. In “Static Interference” and “Faults of the Flesh,” his missions unravel not because of failure, but because of awareness. Every battle leaves him questioning what the Augmentum is truly fighting for—and what’s left of the man beneath the armor. He began as a believer. To him, Homo Originalis were the next virus in humanity’s bloodstream—unpredictable, uncontrollable, dangerous. But after countless encounters—with Allure’s mercy, Hijacker’s manipulation, and Brute’s monstrous evolution—he’s begun to see reflection where he once saw enemies. “They’re not miracles,” he once muttered. “They’re mistakes evolution hasn’t fixed yet.” But lately, he isn’t sure evolution didn’t make one mistake too many—him.

In “A Dark Distraction” and “Crossed Wires,” we glimpse a man trapped between duty and disgust, chasing enemies who leave him moral fingerprints instead of corpses. “Siege Protocol” cements his descent from loyal soldier to necessary skeptic—a man willing to adapt, even if adaptation costs his humanity.

Combatant’s alignment is Neutral in title but conflicted in truth. He’s pro-survival, not pro-order. The Augmentum forged him, but he’s beginning to see their “justice” as another kind of infection. His aim: balance through precision. His ambition: evolution beyond obedience. His purpose: to ensure that when this war ends, something human is still standing.
